மனம் திறந்து …..

Before the release of the film ‘Kuselan’the director of the film told the theme of the story in an official meet “A man can succeed in his life without any relatives and some may even without parents but no man can succeed without Friends” The film may be flop but the last sentence of the theme is a great hit in my life. I realized this one week before.

Some 10 days before, it was announced in my class that an on-campus is to be conducted on September 19 in our college. As soon as it was announced, Lakshmikanth from my back bench called me and shook hands with me. I asked why? He said “Congratulations you are going to be selected this time” I asked how? He told, “மனசுல ஒரு பட்சி சொல்லுதுடா ” So now itself i wish you all the best” being confused i said “Ok, thanks”. Till September 19 he was frequently calling me and wishing me, telling “You will be selected”. I could find a pure wish in his words.

It was on the eve of September 18, i was sitting at home and seeing the Aptitude book. A message came from Nithya which read ”All the Best, tommorrow”. I was not able to reply as there was no balance in my mobile. Next day morning I woke up and saw the cellphone, another message from same person. “All the best, be confident today” Then also i could not reply. I went to college and came to know that Kathiravan too had got the same message. So, we together thanked her through his mobile. Then, we started preparing for Aps, In meantime, Lakshmikanth came to me, this time he was very confident he said, “You will surely be selected”T. That itself was a booster for me.

Then time came to assemble in the Mini-Auditorium. All started moving to the Auditorium meanwhile we SIM members took some photographs standing along with our files in full formals. Then some of the boys namely Ravi, Gomathi Sankar, Sathish, Gopalakrishan were wishing All the Best to all the Candidates. Then after attending ppt, we went for the first round where in the hall we wished all the bestto each and every known person in the hall. After finishing 1st round(Aps), we had lunch and waited till waited till 3′o clock. Results were announced, 1st name was Hemachandran from CSE, I was expecting his name he is a good problem solver. 2nd Madan Kumar CSE. I was both happy and scared that as like Infosys my name was second and there is going to be no time to prepare for the 2nd round. Then the other friends names were announced specially to tell, M. Rajhariny CSE, I was very happy that my friend was selected. Then to my great excitement it “Vasanth Kumar CSE” Oh my GOD !! another SIM member selected. I was just about to hug him.

The other names i was expecting did not come. I was little bit sad. But those people burrying there disappointment, wished me “All the Best” with a smiling face. There I was able see a pure wish.
We all attended the 2nd round and came out to wait for results, meanwhile Hariny gave her mobile saying Joel on-line, Joel spoke- All the Best, when i call you in the evening a good news should be heard. I said ok. Some hours later, results were announced. “Madan Kumar and Rajhariny from CSE”. I was shocked only two out of seven from CSE to the 3rd round. This is because some where tensed in the Tech HR and were not able to answer though they knew the answers. Moreover, they had their debut HR round. Then Myself and Hariny went for the General HR. I was the first person, I wished the HR and sat down.

HR: How are you?
Me: Fine Sir !!
HR: You are from which dept?
Me: I am from CSE department, sir.
HR: You have got nice marks in School level, Why didn’t you opt for Medical?
Me: I chose my career based on my Interest sir and not based on my marks. Due to my Interest in Computer Science,      I refused Biology.
HR: How can you have your Identity in this Society?
Me: If we contribute something to our society as per our position, we can surely have our own identity sir.
HR: In your hobbies, you have mentioned “Lyrics writing” What kind of lyrics do you write?
Me: Usually I write in Tamil sir, I will take some interesting songs and write different lyrics for that tune.
HR: Can you say a lyric?
Me: Can I say in Tamil Sir?
HR: Sure
Me: (I told the one, that I first wrote in my life)
HR: Can you say the meaning?
Me: (I said the meaning in English)
HR: What is life for you?
Me: It is like a puzzle sir.
HR: How?
Me: We cannot understand life directly sir, we will have some clue like things to be followed for solving. Else it  becomes a mystery sir.
HR: Nice meeting you Madan.
Me: Thank you sir.

Then Hariny had her HR and we were asked to wait in a class room, Meanwhile we were talking to each other. Soon Hariny had a call and after speaking she gave it to me. It was Lasmi, my friend. She wished me “All the Best” and then S.S. Priyadarshini also. Then i got SMS from Ram wishing us all the Best. I would like to tell about Hemachandran, Vasanth and Vijay who called me and asked what happened, when i came out after HR round. I told them and they wished me telling, “Sure, you will be selected”. Then Hariny told me that, “We two were eliminated in Infosys final round and same two were now in last stage, if one were to be eliminated let it be me and not you since for you only job is needed now” I could not believe my ears and my eyes to see a true well wisher and a friend. She also told me that you insist all your friends to practice talking in English so that you all can be placed easily.

Then 1 hour later results were announced. First name was ‘Madan Kumar’, i was greatly relieved from my tension and I could see the same happiness in Hariny’s face, next was ‘Rajhariny’ Thank God none was eliminated. Altogether 15 students were selected from our college. Then we had the Photo session (My session) and then went home. To my surprise, my cell phone Inbox was full with all my friends messages.

Infact i did not inform any of these news to my parents, but my parents knew all the matter through my friends. Joel has called two times, Aravind called and I could see a great happiness in their voice. Then i had SMS from all my friends from girls side. The same Lakshmikanth called me and wished. I said, “I can never forget you in my life da” Then the next two days also my school friends and SIM members wished. On Monday at college all my classmates wished me, Vivek and Aravind were writing on board, “Congrats to Dora and Sullan”. Thanks, they have accepted me as sullan. Then i had a happy wish from Ram in the form of 5 star.
I feel the main reason behind my excited moment is the pure wishes, i.e. wish with no expectation from my parents and all my friends. I would like to quote a song,

I had all the three from my friends.
1. It was a great help when I studied with my friends during semester exams when we shared whatever we know.
2. When I had a problem in going to tour, I had a financial help from my friend who said that you don’t worry you should also have the tour.
3. I could see the  joy and excitement in my friends face when something good happened to me.

So I can see all the three qualities in my friends.
I am ever thankful to the Almighty for giving me such a wonderful friends.
All the pure wishes of all my friends mentioned in this post made me feel my excited moment.
I tell to myself “Don’t forget these friends in your life”.

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF

Posted by $ Kathiravan $ on September 17, 2008

This post has the experience of me and madan in our final year tour. First let me share my experience.

My Experience :-

The first two years of my college life was in the hostel and I enjoyed the hostel life very much and till now, I had a wonderful life with my SIM members. But I had one phobia i.e, fear to talk with girls. I don’t know what the reason was. It can be that I studied in boy’s school till 12th and it can be that I’ve no sisters. Whatever may be the reason, I was always having the fear when I had talk with the girl. But now, I can talk without much fear. Thanks to two of our class girls who teased me in the tour. I was really stunned when they teased. But my friends motivated me and also shouted at me to tease girls and game started there. I think that must be the point where my fear started disappearing. And now I can talk to girls just as my other friends. And also in the tour, we had chances to talk and go with some of the boys with whom we had no contact much. And mow we have many friends both boys and girls much before all because of the final year tour.

Madan’s Experience :-

Actually the final year tour was impossible for me till the last few hours of the day of tour. Thanks to kathir because of whom I had my tour. At the beginning of the tour I thought that 5 of us will be left alone in the tour and in the first day, it was not so. We went to all rides in veega land with many of our friends and it was wonderful day. The day in munnar we 5 only were alone in the all places. I don’t know whether it is because we did not move with the others or vise versa. Next day few unexpected things happened. Suddenly in kodaikanal, 5 of our class girls started teasing us which was actually the effect of kathir being teased the previous day. Then we started teasing them and a great friendship blossomed there and a team of Dhasavadaram formed there (we 5, they 5) where we had a lot of fun some wonderful experience.

Now our friendships continue successfully and hope it will continue forever. According to me, friendship day is not that one comes in a year. It comes five times in a year i.e, August 7,8,9,10,11. Thank god and special thanks to my friends who made me go tot tour or else I would have missed the beautiful session of my life.

LKG Vs Ph.D.

Posted by ~Joel.red~ on September 15, 2008

The title of this post is interpreted as MIS Vs SIM. If you don’t know what is MIS then just read this post and come back.

I’ll come straight into what i have to say, Everyone at our department knows What is SIM and what they are known for, all these days we were without any alternate. Now a group of Girls, our friends the Well-wishers of SIM have started a new Kazhagam called MIS. The very name MIS itself was just the reverse of SIM. So we can expect them to do the opposite of whatever we do.

SIM was started 2 years before and it’s continuing to Rock in it’s own way. We have no enemies nor competitors. But this is the first challenge SIM is facing. But SIM members say “வீரன் வாழ்க்கைல இதெல்லாம் சகஜமப்பா” and we all know that “MISன்  இந்த ஜம்பம் எல்லாம் செல்லாது செல்லாது”.

SIM are Ph.Ds in giving thoppi(தொப்பி), we are specialized in giving all kinds and all size of thoppis. And MIS is nowhere near us, they are LKGs in giving thoppi. They are doing comedy by telling that they are going to catch us in no time. Blog readers நீங்களே சொல்லுங்க இது அவங்களுக்கே ஓவரா தெரியலையா??

The first attempt of MIS was, they poured water on our benches(SIM Head quarters) when SIM was out to the mess to have lunch. And claimed that they have showed water “தண்ணி காட்டிட்டோம்”. We can’t control our laughter looking at their amateur way of playing pranks.

They copied everything from us, right from the name to our first generation blunts. MIS are the ultimate Copy Cats, அவங்கள கொஞ்சமாவது திருந்த சொல்லுங்க.

  • Dora is the Mastermind behind all these childish attacks.
  • Puppy is leading the attack.
  • Melody is almost crying when we say “நீயுமா??”
  • Teddy is trying to escape from the scene after doing all kusumbu.
  • We can’t under estimate ஆத்தா too.
  • Jailor was not in the scene, when the MIS was (mis)formed, but she is capable of doing the MIS அராஜகம்.
  • Limsy is absconding somewhere in the innermost parts of south Tamilnadu.
  • Ding, ding, ding, is giving silent commands.
  • Kili josiyakaari is sitting in a corner predicting what will happen to SIM next.

SIM is all set to face the “WAR of PEACE”. Come on MIS girls put on your armour and come to the Battle field.

Try to touch us atleast, if you can’t beat us !!

FINAL YEAR PROJECT IDEAS

Posted by % Ramkumar % on September 6, 2008

Hi friends, I think this is the time to decide about the final year projects. Everyone will be having some ideas about their final year projects. Asking to everybody some people are saying that they are going to do their project in the project centers, some say that they are going to do some company projects, and others are saying that they are going to do their projects by their own. But my question is In which topic they are going to do their projects?

On thinking about this question most of the students choosing the Java, J2EE or Windows .NET based Client – Server Applications or Complex Database Applications or Web Applications in PHP, ASP.NET or ASP.NET Consulting and Development or C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, SOAP, Component Architecture, XML or Wireless Applications and Application Maintenance or CRM and Portal Development projects and so these fields has more and wider range of explorations in today’s trend. Seeing the usage of the projects they are categorized into application projects and core projects.

Most of the application projects like Core banking, Internet banking, Payroll management, Academic management, Stock exchange, Ticket reservation, etc. are client-server type for which again the same technologies like Java/J2EE or C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET are used which is also flexible to develop those projects. On viewing the core projects like network monitoring, server development, developing mail and forum servers, wireless technology projects, etc. are also developed by the same technologies that we saw before. But this is like Riding a cycle in different angles but inside a same ring”.

On the other hand there is also fields like graphics, multimedia, visual media, etc. Peoples like cine artists, poster designers, graphics experts, video visualizes, etc are only doing projects in this fields. And most of the students are not choosing these fields its all because the fields that we saw before (Java/J2EE or C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET) are having more expectations than these fields in current trend but some of the multimedia technologies like Flash, Photoshop are still used in developing the web page effectively. Also the MNCs are encouraging the server based projects only this is because their current projects are present under the same category and also they are recruiting and training the people in the same field.

And so the company projects are also present under the same category. Even the project centers are also providing the projects according to the current trends. The following list contains some of the current trend projects that project centers provide.

This article is not only for the final year’s students but also for the juniors to know about the current trend of the projects that are done by our IT field. And finally my best advice is please do not buy any projects. Do it by your own or if you are going to do it in project centers do with proper guidance because this is the place where we are going to show ourselves as an engineer to this society.

It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing.”
